Mr. Phillips is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, where he both represents clients in litigation matters and also frequently serves as a mediator.
Mr. Phillips has 34 years of experience as a trial lawyer, and has first-chaired more than 50 trials. He has practiced in both state and federal courts, and over the last 20 years has represented clients in mass tort and class actions before state, federal and MDL courts.
Mr. Phillips has represented drug companies (HT, DTP, Phen-Fen, PPH, Thimerosal, Reglan and Norplant cases) and device companies (manufacturers of cannulas, joint implants, suturing devices and computer-assisted surgical devices). He has served as counsel in other types of cases, including bad faith, coverage, premises liability, food borne illness, tire defect, a wide range of products liability, railroad, and other serious injury and wrongful death matters.
Mr. Phillips has served as a mediator on over 700 hundred occasions. The matters have involved attorneys from Arizona and elsewhere, and the cases have been varied but include medical malpractice, bad faith, insurance coverage, products liability, negligence, premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death and property damage claims.
