Mr. Simpson is a partner and in the firm’s Securities Litigation Group. His practice is concentrated in the area of commercial litigation with particular emphasis on securities litigation and securities arbitration. He represents broker-dealers, securities issuers, and individual stockbrokers. Since developing a focus in defending securities broker-dealers, he has handled more than a thousand cases for national and regional broker-dealers, most of which were arbitrations filed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Before joining the firm in 1986, Mr. Simpson was associated with a Los Angeles law firm, concentrating his practice in complex commercial litigation. He served as counsel for the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment of the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs for the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983-84.
