Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP proudly announces that Michael D. Plachy and Bruce Samuels will lead the firm’s litigation practice group. Plachy, who is based in Denver, will serve as the practice group leader; Samuels, who is based in Phoenix, will serve as the practice group manager.
Lewis Roca Rothgerber’s litigation practice is comprised of more than 116 attorneys across the firm’s nine markets. Plachy succeeds Randy Papetti, who served as the litigation practice group leader for five years. Papetti will return his focus to his active trial work, as well as his commercial litigation and antitrust counseling practices.

Plachy is a trial lawyer who represents companies in civil lawsuits involving significant financial or reputational exposure, including complex commercial litigation and class actions. Plachy regularly advises businesses concerning corporate governance, risk management and strategic planning issues. He also represents and advises numerous elected officials on election and campaign finance issues. Among other honors, Plachy has been listed in the 2010-2014 editions of Colorado Super Lawyers® in the area of Business/Litigation, earning a Top 100 Ranking in 2012.
Samuels practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property litigation and business litigation, including trade secrets, restrictive covenants, trademark infringement, unfair competition, commercial lease disputes and fraudulent transfers. He often represents clients in proceedings in which temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions are sought. Samuels is recognized as a "Local Litigation Star" in Arizona in the 2014 edition of Benchmark Litigation and is included in the 2009-2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America© in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Copyright Law, Intellectual Property Litigation, Real Estate Litigation and Trademark Law.
