Colorado Springs: The Value of and Need for Cyberlaw Capacity Building

Shane Olafson, Of Counsel in the firm’s Phoenix office, will participate as a panelist in a discussion on cyberlaw and operations at the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) - Colorado Springs Chapter and Federal Business Council's 7th Annual Cybersecurity Training and Technology Forum on Thursday, August 31 at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In a time where protecting sensitive data and communications is more pertinent than ever, this panel discussion will explore and expand upon the military operational law model and role of attorneys in cyber operations; expansion of Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAOs) and role of attorneys in legal framework development for public-private information sharing activities, including frameworks supporting National Guard activities to protect critical infrastructure; interdisciplinary academic programs to educate and train the cyberlaw attorneys needed in the public and private sectors; and The Breach Coaching model and practice in response to cyber incidents and application of privilege from the attorney-client relationship to offer protection of privileged data and communications.
