Overview
Daniel’s practice focuses primarily on ERISA and insurance litigation, where he represents ERISA plans and long term disability insurers in disputes regarding such matters as subrogation and reimbursement, benefit determinations and bad faith. In addition, Daniel has extensive experience litigating stranger originated life insurance (STOLI) matters, in which he has represented insurers challenging the validity of life insurance policies due to a lack of insurable interest. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, ranging from representation of veterans in pursuit of VA benefits to litigation related to capital punishment. Daniel has litigated cases in state and federal courts across the country.
