Doug DePeppe is an attorney and the founding member of eosedge Legal, and is a Strategic Advisor to Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP’s Data Protection and Cyber Security practice. A retired Army JAG officer and cybersecurity attorney, Doug has been centrally involved in national-level and leading commercial cybersecurity initiatives for over a decade.

Doug specializes in advising clients on all matters pertaining to cyber policy, liability, strategy, incident response and other business issues. He offers expertise in all facets of the law and public policy for the cybersecurity challenge, in both commercial and government spaces.

Doug applies his deep experience, including service under two White House cybersecurity initiatives, to help businesses mitigate growing exposure from cybersecurity threats. His portfolio of security projects includes:

Data Protection and Cybersecurity Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in the privacy, constitutional, criminal, and role of government issues that permeate the emergent cybersecurity challenge facing government, industry, and society.
  • Extensive experience related to all facets of Defense and Homeland Security programs and initiatives to integrate cybersecurity efforts across the interagency, state and local governments, the private sector and critical infrastructure.
  • Appointed as a Subject Matter Expert and cited in the White House-directed Energy Department cybersecurity report.
  • Leads the Cyber Working Group of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) council for regional and community resilience building and the DHS Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO) Standards.
  • Advised US-CERT and the National Cyber Security Division at DHS.
  • Served as Principal Investigator and Project Manager for the DHS-awarded Cyber Market Development Project.
  • Advises the Army Network Operations Security Center, Army Knowledge Online (AKO) portal, and counsel for computer network operations, space operations and support to command in a theater of operations.
  • Supported capacity building cyber projects with international organizations, including the United Nation’s International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT).
  • A recognized international speaker on cybersecurity topics with keynotes and panel speaking engagements in Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Europe, Thailand, London, and across the United States.
