Jamie Halavais is a Partner in Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie’s Litigation practice group. Jamie focuses on commercial litigation and class action defense, including matters involving antitrust, RICO, insurance defense and other complex commercial matters. Jamie has over 12 years of litigation experience representing clients on cases in various state and federal courts in Arizona, California, New York and beyond, as well as before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She also has extensive experience in electronic discovery and document retention practices.

Clients rely on Jamie’s expertise for representation in matters involving breach of contract, insurance coverage and bad faith, securities violations and other business disputes. She also represents clients in internal investigations to ensure compliance with company policies and the law.

  • Guided leading publicly traded Internet company through investigations by the DOJ and SEC, class action and derivative litigation relating to backdating of stock option grants 
  • Represented wealthy individual and family businesses in action for ejectment and breach of contract 
  • First chair in arbitration to expunge Central Registration Depository record of former bank executive and judicial confirmation of same 
  • Represented large investment advisors in relation to class action securities litigation and SEC investigations 
  • Represented board of directors of large bank in internal investigation relating to a shareholder demand letter 
  • Provided pro bono support to Criminal Justice Act client, obtaining reduced sentence in argument before federal judge 
  • Assisted unaccompanied minor asylum applicants in immigration proceedings before immigration court and US Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS)/Department of Homeland Security
