Lewis Roca Welcomes 2018 Fall Associates

DENVER (December 5, 2018) – Lewis Roca announces the addition of three lawyers who have joined the firm’s Denver office as associates.  Aurora Barnes, Megan Cunningham Fugier and Stephen Hennessy will practice in the area of business litigation.

Aurora Barnes’ practice focuses on complex commercial disputes including insurance, real property, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and constitutional appellate work. She most recently authored an article regarding constitutional academic freedom, which was published in the Gonzaga Law Review, and co-authored an article regarding the economic impact of the Denver breed ban. Barnes served as a judicial intern for Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and interned under Judge Michael J. Vallejos in the 2nd Judicial District of Colorado. Barnes received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, and her B.S.B.A. and B.A. from the University of Denver.

Megan Cunningham Fugier’s practice focuses on eminent domain and land use, risk management, and insurance, including class actions and first-party bad faith. She has co-authored several articles, including one regarding nationwide trends in the legal treatment of blanket easements. She recently contributed to a scholarly article discussing the implications for law schools who are striving to address changing consumer demands as technology advances. Prior to joining Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, Fugier was a teaching assistant for legal profession coursework and a participant in the Hale Moot Court Honors Program at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. She received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and her B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.

Stephen Hennessy’s litigation practice focuses on complex commercial disputes including breach of contract, bad faith, breach of fiduciary duty and bankruptcy. As a student at the University of Colorado Law School, Hennessy successfully competed in the Rothgerber and Kaufman Securities moot court competitions where he was awarded Champion and Best Brief. He also served on the University of Colorado Law Review and interned for the Honorable Christine M. Arguello in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Colorado Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from George Washington University.
