Our national Gaming practice helps clients navigate through complex gaming and liquor licensing compliance. Our lawyers support a diverse portfolio of businesses—from product manufacturers, service providers, distributers, and marketing agencies.

We represent restaurant and hotel chains and independent restaurant and bar and tavern owners. We regularly represent owners of grocery, convenience and liquor stores in all matters involving liquor licenses.  Our Attorneys assist in obtaining liquor licenses, including those involving common consumption areas, and we assist banks in transferring licenses involved in bankruptcies or foreclosures.  Our firm regularly represent major hospitality industry operators in connection with management or operating agreement matters.

Licensing

The Liquor Group will be able to assist you with any of your licensing needs, from applying for a new license, to license renewals. Our attorneys have years of experience assisting local and national clients with the opening of new restaurants and retail liquor establishments through the application process, which starts with the preparation and filing of an application and ends with a hearing before a local or state licensing authority.

Regulatory Compliance

Our Liquor Law practice includes a former Assistant Attorney General in the Colorado Attorney General’s Office where he prosecuted administrative cases for the Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division, who then served as Director of the Division for over seven years. The group also has extensive experience with Liquor Code violations.  Our attorneys counsel clients on compliance issues relating to sales and marketing of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. 

Manufacturing

We advise suppliers, craft distillers, manufacturers and importers on all matters relating to licensing and compliance and perform comprehensive review and risk analysis of federal and state liquor laws.  In addition, our attorneys frequently draft and review assist in draft and review licensing, bottling, and distribution agreement.

Certificates of Label Approvals (COLAs)

Our attorneys assist in ensuring that alcoholic beverage product labeling complies with sold in the detailed federal regulatory requirements for label content of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, and the Food and Drug Administration.

Distribution

Our attorneys have experience to guide clients through complex state and federal alcohol beverage laws.  We also draft and review distribution agreements for national and international distribution.

Retailers

Our attorneys advise hotels, restaurants, bars, and other retailers, including airlines and limousines, on complexities of state and local alcohol beverage laws. We also regularly represent clients before the local community and state liquor control boards against liquor law violations. 

Government Relations

Our Liquor Law and Government Relations attorneys provide legislative advocacy at the state or federal levels. We assist client in identifying and resolving legal and regulatory issues.
