Overview
Michael is a trial court litigator whose practice focuses on construction, real estate, securities, and commercial disputes.
Michael’s construction and real estate industry experience includes the following:
- Representation of owners and contractors in disputes involving construction and design defects, scope issues, delays, indemnification, and risk allocation.
- Representation of contractors in conjunction with mechanics’ lien, payment, and collection issues.
- Representation of owners and contractors in licensing proceedings before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
- Representations involving judicial and non-judicial foreclosure, loan repayment, mortgage deficiency, and lender-liability issues.
- Representations involving landlord/tenant disputes.
Michael’s securities industry experience includes representation of broker-dealers and registered representatives in court and in arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority involving suitability, supervision, and securities fraud issues.
Michael also has experience with commercial disputes such as those involving limited liability companies and partnerships, including disputes among owners and business divorce matters.
Before law school, Michael worked at a national securities brokerage firm, where he researched economic and financial trends, conducted business planning, tracked regulatory compliance, and analyzed revenue and asset goals for clients.
During law school, Michael served as a judicial extern at the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and the Arizona Court of Appeals.
