Renewable Energy Development on Tribal Lands
2/4/2016

Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie has joined EUCI as a Sponsoring Organization for the upcoming conference “Renewable Energy Development on Tribal Lands” on February 4-5 in Anaheim, CA.  Pilar Thomas, of counsel in the Firm’s Tucson office, will present on the unique legal and jurisdictional considerations for renewable energy development on tribal lands, and will also present at the post-conference workshop on structuring contract instruments to sell power into the grid.

With over 9,000 MW of potential renewable energy resources, tribal lands are uniquely positioned to support state renewable energy portfolio requirements, EPA Clean Power Plan implementation plans, and corporate clean energy and sustainability goals.  The EUCI conference will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the various jurisdictional, legal, and regulatory structures, as well as business structures and arrangements, that are involved in developing renewable energy projects on tribal lands.
